Reiki & Chakra Healing
Chakras are spinning wheels of energy activity at crucial positions, or focal points, along the centre of the body. When any of the chakras are blocked due to a variety of reasons such as trauma, injury, lifestyle habits, negativity, or environmental stress, there is no longer a harmonious flow and that can manifest as imbalances in any area of life.
Each Chakra has an affinity with one of the glands of the endocrine system and these have a profound effect on our spiritual, physical AND emotional processing. Chakra healing works positively to promote health and vitality, confidence, clarity and peace of mind, compassion, inspiration, balanced sexual energy, and inner strength. Extract from 'The Principles of Reiki' by Kajsa Krishni Borang
"Reiki is a Japanese word in which the first syllable REI means spirit, aura or subtle energy.
The second syllable, KI means energy or power.
Different cultures and spiritual paths have different names for this energy.
In China it is called QI and in India, Shakti or Prana.
In English we use such terms as life-force, cosmic consciousness or divine energy.
Hawayo Takata, one of the Reiki Grand Masters, wrote in her diary: 'This power is unfathomable, immeasurable & being a universal life-force, it is incomprehensible to man. Yet every living being is receiving its blessings daily, awake or asleep. Different teachers call it the Life-Energy because when applied it vitalises the whole system; Ether Wave because it soothes pain and puts you into a deep slumber as if under anaesthetic; and the Cosmic Wave because it radiates vibrations of exultant feeling and lifts you into harmony.
I shall call it Reiki because I studied under that expression."

"Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us.
Reiki is the name given to a system of natural healing which evolved in Japan from the experience and dedication of Dr Mikao Usui (d. 1926). Fired by a burning question, Dr Usui was inspired to develop this healing system from ancient teachings after many years of study, research and meditation. He spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki. Today Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have trained in the tradition passed down from Master to student.
There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment, the only prerequisite is the desire to be healed.
A Reiki Treatment
The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is a very simple process.The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes. If they are unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position, the main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything, even plaster casts. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms. A full treatment usually takes 1 to 1½ hours with each position held for several minutes. "
