About Roberta Stimson
ND, M.A.C.H.,R.C.T., D.Ac., D.Th.D, DCN, M.D.(M.A.) (Sri Lanka), EFT Level 2 Born, educated and raised in Canada by an engineer and a physiotherapist, I was introduced to the creative application of scientific principles by my parents. I apparently felt the need to add a third dimension to the mix so as a young teenager I became fascinated with faiths and spiritual beliefs, optimistically thinking I could come to comprehend the workings of the minds and souls of people the world over. I read about Latter Day Saints, Sufis, Catholicism, The Kabbalah, and Humanism; and experimented with paganism, Buddhism, and Ancient Egyptian Religion. I even took myself off to be confirmed into the Anglican Church at the grand old age of 18 in the hopes of fulfilling a deep longing, although now I don’t feel the need for a specific religion to answer my questions. After leaving school and Uni I had 25 jobs of different varieties in a thorough search for my soul’s purpose! I was intrigued by the mystical, the magical, and the unseen and found that I could make things happen with the power of my thoughts if I felt strongly enough and in one example of that, my great passion for England brought me here to live in 1979 where I have made London my adopted home – spiritual and in all other ways. Finally I discovered a classified ad for The College of Classical Homoeopathy in 1984 and never looked back. I went on to study:
- Dietary Therapy and Iridology with Dr. Laurence Plaskett and Barbara Wren
- Holistic Health including Clinical Nutrition, Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, Colon Hydrotherapy and Lymphatic Irrigation
- Kinesiology, PK, and Temple-Tapping with Harry Howell
- Touch for Health with Brian Butler
- Clinical Acupuncture with Dr. Anton Jayasurya and Phytobiophysics Flower Formulas with Diana Mossop in Sri Lanka
- Naturopathy with Roderick Lane, founder of The London College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Science
- Reflexology, Metamorphic Technique, Aromatherapy, Acupressure & Reiki
- Emotional Freedom Technique with Judy Byrne EFT Master.
I opened my first practice in 1984, in East Twickenham, with my then partner, a physiotherapist who also happened to be my mother, from whom I learned a great deal about the art of treatment and nature cure.
I also had a room at the Hale Clinic for 5 years shortly after it was opened, SO long ago that I was a visiting practitioner to Diana, Princess of Wales at Kensington Palace while she was still married to her husband, who happened to open the Hale Clinic (in 1987). After that I worked in Harley Street at numbers 10 and 22; The Ultimate Health Clinic in Mortlake; and various practices in Kew, Isleworth, Hayes and Uxbridge, Greater London as I searched my soul for the place to be.
In 1999 I followed my passion to live a relatively eco-friendly life on the water in the London area. I was able to design my beloved houseboat and have it bespoke built on the grand union canal. We are surrounded by nature on all sides, from the swans and waterfowl to starboard, and garden birds and wild creatures such as hedgehogs, foxes, and muntjac deer to port (not all at once but at various times throughout the seasons!) There is a subtle movement as the houseboat gently adapts to the wind and occasional water-traffic that beautifully compliments a peaceful and relaxing session for my clients, or when meditating or doing yoga.
I have a heartfelt desire to teach others how to trust and have faith in our infinite innate wisdom that is always moving life-ward towards repair, restoration and renewal and I prefer to work with individual souls rather than lecture or teach to large audiences. I have chosen the slightly bohemian lifestyle that makes me feel good and thoroughly enjoy the diversity of patients and what they have to teach me.
